Is this Ebay Light system Good or Bad?

Hello, I need sme help deciding if this hood is good or bad. I decided to go with a 400 Watt combination HPS with a MH conversion system. I found a combo unit on ebay from a seller named greatlights4less. The picture is below and here is the listing: 400 Watt HPS GROW LIGHT/PROFESSIONAL MAMMOTH SIZE HOOD! - eBay (item 250211115617 end time Feb-28-08 14:55:01 PST)

They say it does not cause hotspots, but I am wondering why no other supplier has this design that reflects the light from the sides and corners. Most lights I see are either open, or in a box or tube.

Could someone please tell me if this is a good deal or not?

There have been reports where e-bay and pay-pal report these types of purchases. I can't say for sure one way or another but I also believe that it's always best to be on the safe side.

ps...first thing to remember about hoods...will it fit...in the grow space?

The thing is, although I love my weeds, I am actually going to be growing an orange tree that I picked up in Florida and a lots of tomato seedlings to sell this spring and also for my garden. I still don't want to be flagged though. Where is a safe place to buy? and does that design look like it will be better than the box type? I'm trying to cover a 4x6 area in the corner of my living room.

A lot of these real life stores will accept a mailed in money order.

Sometimes it's just worth the drive to a grow store. :)

So is it really dangerous to buy grow lights online? I thought it would be better to buy from a highly rated person on ebay. How do they track where a private person is shipping something?

Am I missing something? I'm just trying to find out if this is a good design or if it is bull. I really am gowing fruits and vegtables.

dont listen to people saying ebay will report you for buying lights off ebay. You will be fine.

I appreciate the info. What about that light, does anyone see any problems with it. I guess I am deciding between a regular box type hood, and this open, type reflector. This one seems better because it looks like it reflects all the light down as opposed to boxing it in. Maybe I am missing something. The guy does have good feedback and he is a powerseller. Do you think it is worth a try? It's priced right ($153). I just don't want to get something that has a loud ballast or is made cheaply.
