Vapor to oil conversion?
1) The best buzz with the smallest amount of weed has undoubtedly come from my vaporizer.
I love the high because you can laugh and talk all night, don't get couch lock and don't feel like a zombie the next day.
2) I would rather injest because even the vaporizer irritates my lungs.
3) I like the duration and possible intensity with injesting.
I've had decent results with firecrackers and gel caps, but haven't mastered cooking yet. I'm wasting a huge amount of weed. So far injesting results in 1/5th of the high, with 5 times more weed but it does last 2 times longer. I'll take quality over duration any day.
It seems to me that vaporizing extracts the psychoactives much better than cooking but injesting gives a longer and more healthy high.
So, I decided that if I could somehow vaporize the weed and then capture it in oil, I could have the best of both worlds. I seriously doubt this could work, but the simplest idea I had was to pull the vapor through a bong that uses oil instead of water.
I see several problems with this:
1) How much, if any, vapor is captured.
2) Possibly needing to heat the oil in order for it to capture anything.
It's not worth it if you aren't capturing 90+% of the vapor. I don't feel like this can really work because the bubble of air+vapor will probably just pass right through the oil without discarding any psychoactives in the oil.
Any chemists out there with ideas?
Thoughts?
Anyone?

Hmmmm, maybe if the oil was in a vacuum and the vapor was introduced to fill the vacuum and then you shook the container vigorously over some period of time, the capture could take place.
Yeah, it's complicated and probably not worth the effort, but I'm very interested...

Well... though ingenious, this idea wont work.
The high from ingesting weed is weaker then the high from vaporizing/smoking because the absortion of the active substances (THC/CBD/whatever) of weed is far slower when the weed is ingested.
When you smoke/vaporize the weed, the active substances goes directly from your lungs to the bloodstream, and then to the brain. It happens in a few minutes, so very soon all the active substances you vaporized/smoked already are into your brain, making you high.
But when you ingest the weed, it must be digested, and then the active substances must pass through parts of the the digestive system until it reaches the bloodstream. It takes far longer (hours), and its very gradual. The active substances are delivered to the bloodstream very slowly, so the amount present in the bloodstream is far smaller than if you had smoked it, thus making the high far weaker (but longer though).
So, unfortunately, if you want to get the highest with the smallest amount of weed, the only way to do it is smoking/vaporizing.:thumbsup:

Hey, this is a bit off topic but I found this page searching about vaporizers and how they still irritate lungs...have any of you guys tried to maybe take a shot of warm water, hold it in your mouth then take the vape hit and swish so maybe the air's not so dry? I wish there was a bong/vape....
