Roy Scheider, who died Feb. 10, 2008, was well-known for his role as the police chief in Jaws, as well as other films, but my favorite movie that he appeared in is The French Connection, in which he played Buddy Russo, partner of co-star Gene Hackman's tough-guy cop Popeye Doyle.
I wish that they'd re-release the film for the big screen. The high-speed car chase scene in Brooklyn, under the elevated subway line, is worth the price of admission.
Great actor and it's sad that we lost him :(
Classic, to this day, Jaws is one of my all-time favorite films. It's a shame they ruined it by making 3 or 4 of them, but he was a great actor and he'll be missed. R.I.P.
I'm sorry as hell he passed away and I'm glad we didn't lump in Jaws 2 as crap.At least he was in the two good ones so it could be worse...................Alas another shining star has fallen, you will be missed :pipe:
