Heat Problems
Well, only 3 days into flower three and I'm already here. I know I have heat issues and my plants are too close to the bulb, but is there anything you can do? I have some MONSTER fan leaves that are starting to curl up. I moved my thermometer to where its hanging down between the light and the closest can leaf and right now its reading 82, which isn't too high.
Is it because the temp is hotter on the leaf than where the thermometer is since its sitting there baking and absorbing the light? If that is the case, will a fan moving it around make it so the leaves don't bake so hard? Or do I have to tie em down so they aren't so close? I am going to raise the light up a last couple inches but I'm really pressed for vertical space. The clones kind of took off on me!

an oscillating fan will help a little bit but radiant heat will cause you problems and stress the plants over time.
Yes, I'd tie them if you can. Havey you consdered scrog or something?

Heat Problems
I don't think I have the materials to set up a scrog at this point. My plant was to tie the plants down to the opposite table so they will grow over the res and underneath the light instead of up along the side of the bulb. I'm going to move the hood up as high as I can tonight and see what happens.

Heat Problems
Remember what they say down south in summer? "It ain;t just the heat, it's the humidity" lol. The relative humidity is low near the light bulb and the plants don't have to be physically HOT to show heat stress- they are also transpiring rapidly in that intense light and drying out quickly. Tying them away from the light, keeping up with watering, and even adding humidity to the room are ways to combat the heat stress. Be careful not to overdo the extra water/humidity. Next time consider flowering at a shorter stature so you don't run into height issues.

Heat Problems
Yeah they really took off over the last two weeks at like 900 PPM, so I fed them water only for like 10 days before flowering to try and curb the growth but they just didn't stop. I think its because I took my clones immediately so they grew for 6 weeks. I'll have to time it better next time around. Thanks for all the help.

I'll get some tomorrow, I just closed the room up for the night. They do look really funny all laying down and curled upwards
