President Bush said Sunday that there is ??no doubt? in his mind that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) is a ??true conservative.?

I don't know if a Bush endorsement is a helpful boost, that is a reputation that could haunt McCain's numbers. Just my opinion.

Ron Paul argues that he is indeed the truest Republican, and in his debates and speeches he references the framers of the Constitution. He points out that he holds the same beliefs as the first Republicans, and that since then the Republicans have lost their way. He runs as a Republican for this reason - and if you look at the facts it makes sense. In George Washington's farewell address he warned against "entangling alliances". And now our Republican president has us fighting a war in Iraq. He is also a strictly follows the Constitution and fights for small federal government control - which are also considered foundations of the Republican party.

Genêt issued letters of marque and reprisal to American ships so they could capture British merchant ships. McCain is a conservative in the sense of how Bush is a neo conservative. Bush plots out a budget that bloats overall each year while increasing the deficit. He'd make increases to military spending, while cutting everything else back. Bush is giving all these tax breaks at our expense, while increasing the national debt. This is not conservative in any sense except moral values. This voodoo economic plan Bush has us on has got to end.
