What kind of advice are you looking for? Just use organic soils and fertilizers...
how many watts do i have to have on my light, and what do yo think the best way to germinate my seeds?
The wattage depends on how many plants you are going to be growing, and what type of setup you want.
For seedlings you could use 3 or 4 CFLs and put them a couple inches above your seedlings. The CFLs are nice because they will not sizzle your babies and won't dry out the soil as much.
To germinate your plants, just put the seeds between two moist paper towels and then put in a Tupperware container and then put it somewhere kinda warm, like on top of a refrigerator. Or you can just plant the seeds right in the soil...
Those aren't organic-specific questions.
Wattage isn't as important as usable lumen output. You need a minimum number of lumens per square foot to grow healthy plants. For example a HPS400 can light a 3x3 area of floor space, while a HPS1000 will be good for a 5x5 foot square.
Sounds like you have a bit of reading to do; start with the Grow FAQs section and the sticky at the top of the Basic section.
So stinky are you saying a 600w would be good or bad for a grow box with 4'W and 4'L?
yes a 600 would be good to use
and for more organic stuff look into humus, beneficial bacteria, guanos, seaweed products, compost, compost teas
somewhere around the bottom of the basic page or maby the next page there is a bunch of maximum yeild articles that are good read, then as stinky said faq, read some basic grow books or get a bible. good authors, greg green, jorge cervantes i here is good, bog, soma, and afew others are great reads
thank you for all the input guys, everything helps. i know this might be a stupid question but what does "cfl" stand for?
i have the cannabibles one and three right now, they don't say much about growing but i love to reed them. what are some good books that would have some tips?
Only if you have proper ventilation and the room is tall anough (6 foot minimum).Quote:
