Question About Insurance

Hello all.....I know I probably should had started insurance earlier in life, but I'm just getting round to taking it serious enough. I have read over the forum and haven't found what I was looking for. I have read some on here had to pass drug test for new coverage. Are their UAs observed or monitored? Anyone experienced that yet?

There was a time when I used the dilution to the "T", did my test, and then saved the next HUGE void. I poured into small 2oz bottles and froze them. What I want to do is take take a frozen vial of my own clean urine...thaw it out...and sub with that. My primary reason is that that way any results that would come back would be MINE without traces of thc metabolites. If there is a fatal disease (God forbid), I want to know. Thanks in advance.....

Yeah but you wouldn't want your insurance company to know. Most all of them will not cover pre-existing conditions. Thats why they want you to take a UA and probably a blood test. To see if there is an obvious reason they don't want to insure you.

About it being observed or not, for me the examiner just handed me the cup and two containers and said 'fill these up half way whenever you need to go' and left it at that, never even got out of his seat. I'm still waiting for my results been 12 days... Good luck !

I just got insurance in California. I was displeased to see a 25% surcharge added to my premium for "occasional marijuana use". The rationale stated by the Company is that "some medical conditions .. present uncertain underwriting risks" and apparently they claim this is one.

There are no studies that show occasional marijuana use has a negative impact on health. I understand that my activity is illegal -- and I am sure the Company does too, which is why they raised the premium. This surcharge is therefore a disguised rip-off.

I am complaining to the CA consumer insurance commission.

We can get occasional marijuana use at "non-smoker plus" rate.
This is one rate class better than standard.
For regular users, we can still get a non-smoker rate but they will rate up 50% over the standard rates.
This is almost the same as a preferred tobacco use rate.
250k male age 40 with the 50% increase for a 20yr guaranteed level term is 79.20 a month.
Preferred tobacco rate is 71.75 a month and standard tobacco rate would be 93.63 a month.
