Cannabis, drought, and the return of anxiety
Okay, I am curious.
This is a question for smokers who smoke to relieve symptoms of various anxieties and panic disorders.
How severe is your un-medicated level of anxiety or panic?
Do you now take meds other than cannabis for it?
If you don't now, have you in the past?
Are your symptoms brought on by only stressful events, events that should not be stressful to a non-sufferer, or are they persistent in all situations?
How often do you have to smoke to relieve symptoms?
During periods where you have not been able to smoke the herb, such as prepping for a drug test, taking a vacation, or losing a connect, how long do you find it takes for your symptoms to get back to the level they would be at if you were taking no meds at all, including MMJ?
Cannabis, drought, and the return of anxiety
I'll answer these myself to start:

The anxiety is persistent but the panic only comes in certain situations such as conflict, crowds, and other pretty specific surroundings (department stores are a trigger).

It takes about 2-3 days for the general anxiety to return, but during that time, I have a heightened possibility of panic attacks, generally mild ones, and a hard time sleeping. OF course, the sleeping may be a side-effect of travel, which is the only time I can't smoke safely.
Cannabis, drought, and the return of anxiety
I have mild-moderate anxiety, usually exacerbated by pain if it's not controlled. I used to have waay more anxiety attacks- up to 150 isolated episodes per DAY, with 2 panic attacks per week when my fibromyalgia began to show up, but now it's down to maybe three times per week since I started smoking.

On a scale of 1-10, about a 6-7

I take Celexa 40mg since 2005 and Lyrica 350mg since 2007 every day.
If you don't now, have you in the past?
N/A

Ironically, my anxiety isn't triggered by a concious anxiety-causing situation, like a bad test grade or being yelled at. It's the moments when I do not have any conscious stressors around me; I'm assuming it's brought on by subconscious anxiety.

I don't only smoke for anxiety, rather, mostly a combination of anxiety/stomach pain and nausea/fibromyalgia. And at least once if not more times per day, titrated in 1/8 gram pinches of good mids, smoked through a one-hitter or bowl if I'm with friends.

About a day, sometimes less than, and sometimes up to two days if I'm really occupied in a non-stressful activity like vacation or dry period.

Do you keep a notebook of which work better? That way when/if you are in a position to grow your own, you will know where to start looking?

really It can be any situation for me, but usually the ones that are more stressful trigger my attacks. Being put on the spot is one of my worst ones, or crowds.

They usually start coming on like the second day I haven't smoked. And after that they start getting pretty intense, and I am really anxious and cant sleep due to pain.

No

Yea zoloft, wellbutren (sp?) and one other all at diff times. Opted off them i hate the way they make me feel.

Stressful events. My anxiety could be triggered just by the way someone is making me feel in any situation though. Its basically whenever i feel uncomfortable. Which is too often.
How often do you have to smoke to relieve symptoms?
I smoke about a half to an ounce a week depending on quality so i am not to aware of how often i have to smoke cause i just smoke a bowl every hour or so.

Not very long at all due to the stress of worrying about not having bud its a viscious cycle. That has been pretty rare in the past 6-12 months though due to a steady income.
