just planted my seeds

Hello, I just planted my seeds outdoors today(03/04/040 because we are suppose to have warm-mild weather form here on out. I live in NC and have many great places to plant. I saved the seeds from a strain that was very good. when should I harvest the buds. I started looking on the internet on how to grow about 3 months ago and I became so confused it hurt my head lol. But a friend told me that marijuana is naturally a weed so it can grow with little attention. I have quality soil, and can water them every day, and there in the sun. is there any thing else(tips, facts, problems i might have) that you can tell me so i will be prepared.
