What do you guys think about this new tax rebate?

I read Bush is supposed to be giving out huge refunds, something like $600 to individuals and $1,200 to families or something, totalling like 60 billion in Federal hand-outs. I'm a stoner so don't quote me on those figures but what do you guys think about it ? I think it's stupid because we don't have money like that to be giving out, we're in tremendous national debt and this will only add to the problem of inflation. I don't think a lot of people think about that when they realize they are recieving hundreds of dollars in rebate, but I think it's going to hurt in the long run more than help. What do you guys think ?

only 1/3 of the federal government's budget is from income taxes...where does the rest come from? and hell no they can't afford it...oh wait, yeah they can, all they've gotta do is print it onto more paper :thumbsup:

Apparently, inflation and our national debt isn't any sort of concern of many americans for some reason...why, I have no idea..but we cannot afford to protect the borders of other countries...it will cost much less to protect ours here at home, and do so much more for the security of this nation.

I refuse to buy that countries with no army, navy, or air force is going to be any sort of threat to us without them hijacking another airplane, and I'm sorry, but our occupation in ANY country isn't going to keep some crazy son of a bitch from hijacking an airplane, that is if one is able to even manage to get something onto a plane...but when I see the baggage handlers with turbans on it makes me wonder :wtf:

I think it's a SHAMELESS sack-lick on the part of the current administration right before elections. I don't want fucking $600, I want my health care to be cheaper next year. What's $600 gonna do? That's half my mortgage for one month... oh, goody goody. I'ma go write the Fed a thank-you note right now.

It's a good incentive to stimulate the economy as long as "Joe Consumer" isn't stupid enough to take the cash to buy goods made in China. READ THE LABELS!:thumbsup:

I see paying my heating bill. Ugh. We need that $600 just to buy petroleum products these days.

they say the money is to stimulate the economy. that means they are wanting people to spend it and to spend it on things they dont need. the news here went and asked people what the would use the money for. most said they would spend it on.....things they dont need. not a single person said they were goin to put it away or save it or invest it. but just pump it right back into the hands of those who dont need it.

i been thinkin of what to do with it myself. right now im in a position that my bills are very low and i actually have more coming in than goin out. i think im goin to start buying gold. i dont need a new tv or computer or any other needless items but gold will hold its value and even increase over time.

and also isnt this enough money to fund hillarys health care program?(correct me if im wrong) but takn that finacial burdon away from people would go alot further im thinkin

We "could" lower costs by building more refineries and nuclear power facilities in the U.S. but the environmentalists have pretty much made that a no go situation.

I know the lights/ballasts in the basement make my upstairs floors warmer in the winter months.:D

how does it stimulate the economy when more money is going to be borrowed or printed off to pay this money? It just really doesn't make sense to me, to give money that we actually don't have..and think we're doing good..

Thankyou very much for the $600. I didn't have any money for weed, but now with my new rebate I bought 4 ounces! It was some really great kush, a high-grade New York Diesle. My friends and I got stoned off our asses, and your generous government made family guy funny again.
