Fred Thompson dropped out today. He came in third in South Carolina, and if a Southern conservative can't make it in South Carolina, he can't make it anywhere.
I guess he can go back to sleep now --- if he ever truly woke up in the first place. Nighty-nite Fred! Sweet dreams!
Who knows...he may still be in the running for a V.P. job.
In the statement, Thompson did not say whether he would endorse any of his former rivals. He was one of a handful of members of Congress who supported Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2000 in his unsuccessful race against George W. Bush for the party nomination.

I always thought the only reason he ran was to stick a little extra cash in his pocket. He never seemed to be seriously running.
I'm surprised he decided to go on this far. He never really seemed interested in the first place.
I'm hoping Giuliani will be the next to step down.
That reminds me of a saying we sailors have about storms: Long in coming, long will last, quick in coming, soon to pass. Guiliani is probably next.
It really was a matter of time, the media was still giving him coverage over Paul even though Paul was pulling at least 10x more support.
