---Principles Rights in School?!?!?---

So about two weeks ago a good friend of mine was caught at school with about an 8th of pot and a piece... So he got off with three days suspended and a court date coming up... So the day his suspension was up we made about 8 shirts that had a marijuanna leaf on it and over it stated "Dont Crtiticize, Legalize"(Took us forever to make, but looked awesome) and if anyone is familiar with our constututional rights then you would know that it is ok to non violently petition a law that is not promoting any illegal activity(we were not promoting it, by stating Legalize it) So about 15 min into 1st hour our principle came in and took 3 of us in to his office, he called us in one by one, the first two came out about 2 minutes later with there shirts off and white ones that the principle gave them on. So i went into his office and he told me to take it off.
I then stated why and he told me that i was promoting an illeagal substance. I then told him that there was no promotion in there and he says that its the way it is interpreted by him and thats why.. I then procede to tell him that legally the KKK can parade down mainstreet with full WHite outfits on and nothing can be done to them, and asked "Do u think that wont be misinterpreted?" He quickly changes the topic and says a bunch of balogna about how i could not where this to Disney World, and i told him i guess i wont (allthough legally i could), so then i ask to speak with my government teacher, which he does not allow me to do, then i ask to speak with an attorney, which once again he does not allow me to do. So after about 20 min of arguig i just say screw it and take it off.. But then he keeps them and says my Parent has to come get it!!! IS THIS NOT ILLEAGAL AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL TO NOT ALLOW ME TO EXPRESS MY THOUGHTS GOING BY THE RULES??!?! :mad:

O and i must not forget, After i took my shirt off i then asked word for word " What is wrong with Marijuanna?" his answer to this is, i dont have enough time to discuss that.

well bud i hate to tell you this but he was within his legal authority being in school you are supposed to follow the rules that are made by the school board and one of wich is a dress code. i completly undrstand your frustration and the fact that the klan can parade up and down the street does not give them the right to parade up ad down the halls of your school. you are allowed to wear the shirt in public and parade up and down the street screamng it at the top of your lungs but if the principle thinks its promoting illegal acctivity then he will ask you to remove it. would it be right if it wasnt a pot leaf and a person geting their throat slit on it? same argument.

bythe way i got sent home from school once for almost the same thing but mine was a buckeye leaf and said ohio state, but they thought it was a pot leaf.
