A five gallon container should be plenty for one plant.
hey taser, if you decide on using the container make sure its strong enough to hold all that water. i heard about a few rubbermaid disasters when they bust open after a little while from all the weight of the water. good luck:jointsmile:
Damn I hope not! I might just have to double box it!
you should just use a 5 gallon bucket for 1 plant
I didn't really think that pot size would really matter that much.Guess I was wrong.
ok i wanted to try dwc so i took 1 plant in a 5 gal pal. every thing was good then i seeing root rot root are going brown color i have 1 air pump but is there a rule about how much air need to be pumped it or what i am useign an air stone also is there any way to fix the root rot
porxide or h202,it seems like your roots need some oxygen.Did any light get into your bucket? it will cause algae, make sure your bucket is black covered in mylar to refelect any type of light ? did your pump ever cut off at any point?? always make sure your water is cold.Warm water can also cause root rot.
Just some info I have gathered from doing research on DWC!
the bucket is black i think i did not have enough rock on top so there was a little light getting in so i fix that the pump is always on i know 2 night ago the power was off for about 1 hr it happen in my sleep. some light get in when i test my nuts and ph lvl that in the morning other then that i hope the plant can recover
The amount of light coming in while testing your nutrient and pH levels should not be a concern, but you might look for other light leaks. You mentioned not having enough rocks, buy some panda film (or anything that will block light) and cut out a piece to fit around your plant.
What are your nutrient temperatures, nutrient composition, and pH?
Can you post any pictures?
