Ok, so here goes. This is my first indoor grow and I would like to say that I have a bit of experience with growing plants. I have been helping my mom in her garden since I was a little kid and in doing so I picked up a bit of know how. The real problem is I have never had a garden so small, 2' x 2.5', and it has never been indoors.
So to start off this grow I would like to ask a question, would it be better to individually pot all of my plants or could I plant all of them in a plastic tub and let all of the roots sort of mingle?
Now I will tell you what I am growing in, it is one of those pre-fab units with a 600 watt hps light. It is 22â?� deep 32â?� wide and 32â?� tall. I have an intake and exhaust fans. The exhaust has a carbon filter.
So I got this in the mail a week or so ago and now I am just getting around to getting it set up. I screwed in the bulb plugged it in and started swearing. This was supposed to be a stealth unit but it has more light and air leaks than a...well I don't know, but it does leak. So now I have to go out and get a bunch of foam weather stripping and seal that hore up.
Now for what I am growing. I decided that it would be a good idea to play with bag seeds until I have this unit all sorted out. So for right not I have 36 seeds that I dumped into a jar of water and then let sprout on top of moist paper towels. They were a mix of small and large seeds because I was told that all of the small ones would be female but I don't think so.
For now the seeds are in the 6 plant trays in the box. They should show their heads any day now, so please wish me luck.

You can put the plants together if you want. But the pot needs to be 8-10 gallons and they will be fine. I have all my plants together in large pots packed with Nutrients. When they all grow together you will have a nice Bush that will fill out.

So to start your using bag seed, well who ever told you that about the size of the seeds is wrong, Say if you had some named strains and if they where mixed you be able to tell what seed is from which strain. Say Like Trainwreck that is a clone only plant, when you cross it the seeds are really small. But you have to known the strains in order to figure it out if they where mixed.

i think that i will be using a 10 gal tupperware thing that will be
full of organic soil. this fri i will be going to the local hardware store
and will be getting a bale of pro-mix and a bunch of worm castings lime and all that other stuff that i need
when it comes time to move them to the tub i will have already sexed them...i think and will try a sog but it might not work because they are seeds and not clones.

there are still no sprouts but i have been having a
little bit of a problem with heat buildup. so my solution,
make the whole box white. i used white paper to do this
and i hope that there is not too much humidity
for the paper to survive.

i think that it will help to make the heat go away. :cool:

the highest it has been is
38%. most of the time it is like 31%.

the heat has been up to 91-93 F when the lights
are on. i think that i read that this was a bit too hot
i would like to see it 85 F or maybe a bit less.

And I wouldn't plant them altogether as suggested there. Some will be males.....good luck removing them without destroying the roots of the plants around it. All plants should have their own pot.

I'd find a good growing guide if I were you and start there. Sounds like it sure could be a wreck in the making already......you can avoid MANY problems later with some extra study time now.

well i have been reading a lot lately it is actually kinda odd. i used to read a lot when i was in highschool but now that i have to work a lot i dont seem to read as much.

well the first three sprouts were up when i last checked on them a few hours ago. they seem as fine as any sprouts.

i still cant post pics yet.
