Help a newb out :]

Alright, here's what I'm working with.

5 Gallon Plastic Nursery Pot - 6
Vinyl Saucers - 6
Digital Timer
EcoPlus Large Display Thermometer/Hygometer
Rapitest Mini pH Tester
SMC Premium Quality Leaf Wash
Fox Farm Happy Frog Organic Soil - 4.0 cubic feet
Light Hanger
Sun System 2 HPS Enclosed Ballast Light System - 400 watt
SolarMax Super HPS 400w Lamp
Advanced Nutrients Grow 4 Liter
Perlite

My grow area is in a walk in closet, about 9 square feet. I'm planning to grow 6 plants. The space is next to a water heater, so I'm putting up plywood to separate the area from the heater. Also, I am suspending a flame retardant tarp(which I will be sewing a zipper onto) from plant hooks with twine, . I'm not going to have the plywood/tarp go to the ceiling, only to the shelving above.

I was pretty much just looking for some input on anything esle I might need to start with, to get some opinions on what kind of fan I should buy for ventilation, and to see if there is an alternative for a tarp to separate my closet from my grow. Also, will heat be a problem for a 400 watt HPS lamp? I live in an apartment, so I can't vent straight outside. I'll be venting into my room, through a charcoal filter, mostly for heat control. I know growing in an apartment is risky business, but I'm confident enough that I won't get busted that I'm risking my freedom to do so. So no criticism on that, please.

well . . . we got similar situation ...similar grow area , similar lights and i'm also venting in my room ;)
true . . it's a risky business ! Now i'm down on one plant and smell
is amazing but is also very strong ! I can imagine what smell will be whit 6 plants ! ! :rasta:

But in your box u can plant 8 plants without problem !

It was better and smarter to buy a hps bulb and coll tube and extractor then Sun System 2 HPS Enclosed Ballast Light System .

In that space 400 w hps generate alot of heat so u will need a good vent system and thats a fact !
