no, this isnt about the song.. lol.. although it is now stuck in my head.. I <3 the 80's..
Another of old lady's caregivers quit last thusday.. In the year and 4 months Ive been here, we have gone through 7 people. technically 8 cause one girl came back and quit again.. I have had to come back in the middle of the night, a few hours after leaving, had to stay a couple of weeks in a row without any days off, then when I did, it was only for two days.. full 48 hours. I havent once quit, or threatened to quit. thats not what I do. If I tell you im quitting its on my way out the door.. The woman I care for is 98, will be 99 in 3 months and she is really mean, bitter, dwells on the negative, nothing is ever right and hasnt been right since the last time she was able to go out and do it herself. She has run so many people out of here cause of some of the mean shit she says. Its gotten to the point where if I leave to take my two days off a week, she will shit and puke and not sleep for that two days Im gone. Its overwhelmed so many people to the point of quitting.. then when i come back, she sleeps like a baby.. sure shes still mean, but we have an understanding. she tried to be mean to me in the beginning, but i showed her real fast i am not one to talk shit to. I've had to restrain her, both with my hands and with actual restraints. she tried to bite me, I've yelled at her even got in her face once after she said something really evil. I've even gotten props from her daughter for not letting her talk shit to me. she even warned me from the beginning that she is a bitch. I've gotten 3 raises in the time I've ben here for putting up with her. If i couldnt smoke on the job and get paid very well, id be gone. its been pretty much the same at all my other jobs. I take over, run everything, get raise after raise and watch people come and go.. is that what a good work ethic is? hmm.. dunno, im stoned and rambling.. there was a point to all this.. but i done forgot.

I do home health care also, Hilder. I have this one client( I have 3 right now) who is very tough on some girls, and they quit or she fires them. Sometimes she wont even let them back in the house. She's a tough old bird and I adore her! She doesn't trust anyone and thinks everyone wants her money. She has a tracheotomy & a pace maker, and nothing is funnier to me then when she gets upset at someone(It could be anyone- the electric company, a neighbor, a caregiver)and her finger starts flapping on her trach as she's yelling, having to stop every few sentences for a deep breath. I try to calm her down, but she has a very sound mind, and proceeds to tell me off. She says she has spoke her mind for 86 years and "we" aren't going to silence her now!
Yeah... she's awesome. We get along great. I have a soft spot for grumpy, stubborn, cantankerous old people.

Well... completly off topic, but anyway... if you listen the chorus of this song "another one bites the dust" backwards, it says "Its fun to smoke marijuana". :rastasmoke:
