Im praying here, someone can help me - LONG TERM USE HELP NEEDED! Thanks.

I dont know where to start really, have gotten myself into abit of a state thats got worse and worse and now have gotten so bad im desperate for answers, any input welcome.

Im a 20 yr old female in the uk and me and im long term bf have been smoking hash and cannabis for about a year, almost every day to be honest, i have a severe ocd and anxiety dissorder so took to smoking it to make me feel better.
Anyway, a couple of months ago a nasty sickness bug went around, and i thought i'd caught it as i was being sick as soon as i woke up and continued to be so and really nasty nausia all throughout the day and night with it too. It went on for 5 days and i was getting no better and as it was an unusually long time my dad (doesnt know i smoke) offered to take me to the doctors, the doctor advised it was a simple bug and by trying to eat more and waiting i would fight it off.
8 days had passed and i was still puking like mad, i had hardly ate due to the constant nausia.. and i had no strength, then my boyfriend suggested getting some cannabis as it relieves sickness. Well considering we'd been without for over a week and i was losing all hope of getting better we bought a good amount of cannabis.
And to my suprise, it cured me! as soon as i'd done a bottle bag (sort of like a bong/bucket) - i felt instantly better.. 8 days of hell when i could have been blazing!?

Unfortunately, the story doesnt end there, we bought enough to last us a week, then we bought another weeks worth straight after. it was a good couple of weeks until i woke up one morning with no cannabis and realised i WAS still ill, i was sick within a few minutes and the whole thing started up again.

Not wanting to tell my doctor i just used cannabis to cover up the sickness until recently, where i came clean about everything to her, she said it could quite possibly be the cannabis and to stop taking it, when i explained it wasnt as easy as that when i have server sickness and nausia she gave me some anti sickness pills and told me to take them instead of cannabis.

I tried the pills the next day and they didnt work, i just brung it back up :(

Now, in desperation as i dont know what the bloody hell to do... i looked some things up online and found this: "Effects on gastrointestinal tract: Marijuana has known antinausea properties and the use of marijuana has been permitted for the treatment of nausea in some US states for this reason. Oddly enough, a chronic nausea/vomiting syndrome has been reported in numerous habitual marijuana users. Cessation of use in these cases ends the syndrome. "

IS this what i have? The nausia/vomiting syndrome caused by long term cannabis use?
I think the likely answer is yes, but what my real question behind all of this is what do i do to get off it sucessfully without feling or being sick? the anti sickness tabs dont work and i already went about a week off of it when it first came on as described above ^

So what the bloody hell do i do? The money its costing to keep me on cannabis/hash all day every day is killing me, but the other option of staying long term sick isnt appealing either.. the doctor has no answers... HELP!? =(

Your right about marijuana having anti-nausea properties. But you have to look outside the box. Do you care much when your stoned? Unlike when your sober thinking about the side effects of your cold. When your stoned it suppresses those thoughts those allowing you to go about normally. Just keep burning it will go away soon. I wouldn't take pills. Try making marijuana capsules.

Beckie, see if you can find a doctor who has more extensive experience with patients who use cannabis regularly. Also be sure to rule out other possible illnesses.

Thanks guys, i've done abit more extensive research myself and have found a condition that sounds just like what wrong with me, its called CVSA (Cyclical Vomiting â??Syndromeâ??). And almost all of my problems match up to the diagnosis. But apparently its quite uncommon so the doctor may have easily missed it, will be sure to mention it to him next time.
Interestingly enough, a study on some heavy cannabis smokers in australia with CVSA found that cannabis although relieved their symptoms, it could also of contributed to the illness in the first place. Interesting huh?
If i've literally smoked myself into an illness (that can not be cured) then i am not happy. lol

Its early days anyway, but i think im on the right track with this.. all i know is i need to find a answer that doesnt involve me spending almost all of my money on cannabis and hash to keep me alive.

I've lost over a stone in 2 or 3 months, im pale, not eating, i have to find some answer to this... :(

First off make SURE you are staying hydrated since you are vomiting so regularly, and be certain to rinse out your mouth very well to try to minimize damage to your teeth from contact with stomach acid while you sort out the source of the problem.
Can you drink shakes and liquids, or does that not stay down either? You REALLY don't want to have that rapid weight loss, since it can lead to other serious health problems. Yoghurt smoothies made with frozen fruits and berries, and sweetened with frozen orange juice concentrate, are nutritious and should be easy on your stomach. Add wheat germ for even better nutrition. Don't let yourself become more sick while you try to find an answer!

Yes your right, Theres probably no point in discontinuing with the cannabis use until the doctor can tell me more, because if i stop now.. i could end up in hosp in the next few days, 'coz the puking and nausia is so bad, i just cant go back to it.
I can eat liquid food in small quantitys and only manage a normal main meal about once every 3 days, soup keeps me going between that, and i will keep my liquids up.. thanks :)
