My best friend's mom died Christmas break... She was SCUBA diving in the Keys, and must have had an embolism or something; when she came back up, she was in cardiac arrest, and she died.
She was a fellow toker, and the most respected arachnologist on the east coast... I still can't believe it.
The world is a shade darker now... Rest in peace, Dr. K... :(

Because of her, I NEVER killed a spider. I remember getting badly bit by a wolf spider once, and she knew exactly what to do to ease the pain (it got really badly infected).
I remember going on stash runs with her daughter (she doesn't smoke) trying to find her herb when she was home... Good times.
