Where im from you can because its drug paraphernalia.
I dunno if you have to have weed with you or not.
If you have a legitimate reason for carrying a scale in your vehicle, its not a problem. I carry a scale in my truck for weighing refrigerant cans.
If your just cruising around with a triple beam balance on the dash, thats kinda stoopid because your *ADVERTISING* to the world that something isn't quite right.
Do yourself a favor and keep all of the weed and paraphenalia out of the car. Don't put yourself in a position where somebody has to *DO* something about it.
If nothing else, I'm sure that the scale will be plenty enough reasonable cause to search your car (whether you want him or her to or not). If they find as much as a seed, your car gets impounded and could get taken away.
I don't see how a scale could be incriminating since there are now laws prohibiting possession of scales.
But to be on the safe side, if you don't absolutely need them at the place you're going, take 'em inside.
Thanks for the help everyone. I don't actually ever take it out of my house for those reasons. My friend was the one who started this post and so far it looks like I was right haha. I mean...what does an 18 year old need a scale in his car for?
my friend got busted with one, but he had quite a bit of other things on him, but he told me that its automatically intent to sell or whatever. But if you made enough of a case and it was clean I really can't imagine that you'd get in trouble.Couldn't you just say that your friend is a jeweler or something?
Not unless the scale is set and calibrated in TROY OUNCES.Quote:

Alright here it is, if a cop finds a scale with keefe or residue ANYWHERE on it! Then it is an immedeate Felony!! U do not wanna f around with it, CLEAN IT VERY WELL before going anywhere and u dont need a reason for having one, just ask for an attorney, never Lie, but u dont EVER have to answer a cops tricky question!
Being as I work at a law office, you CAN NOT be arrested for carrying POSTAL scales in your car, it only gives the cops probable cause to search. Digital Scales however will give you a 1 way trip to jail.
well hopefully if you're carrying scales in your car they're going to be hidden...it's called the plain-sight rule...they can't see anything, they don't have probable cause...
