Envirolite flowering

tried envirolite's just to see what they would be like compaired to full spectrum hps, superb for the veg stage, cuttings love them and the plants stay short and very bushy. been leaving them under 2 200w veg lights until their a couple of weeks into the flower stage then switching to a 600w hps to finish flowering. does anybody know when you'r supposed to be using the flower spectrum envirolite's? i'm completely new to these type of lights so am not sure if i keep the veg lights in until i start to see buds, then use the flower lights, or do i use the flower lights when i put them over to 12hr light? getting very good results using the hps for flowering, but wish to make a second grow room just for sativa's as they take longer to get a crop from and would like to use the two flower spectrum lights i have. When i've tried them before the results for flowering haven't been anywhere close to the results the veg lights give. it would be a shame to waste the two flower bulbs so any advice would be much appreciated, thanks

Keep veg lights until a week after going to flower to help reduce stretch. Use as many lights as possible, especially in flowering.

cheers dude. i'll continue with this grow using the hps for flowering as i'm getting a bit low and the time to experiment is when supply isn't an issue. I'll give that a try in my new grow area with some clones that are ready to go in. There just dosen't seem to be any information on these lights on the net. did think about using all four bulbs for flowering, but think the 600whps would probably be cheaper to run and give better results. bought them on a panic after returning from holiday to find one of my plants had grown into the light. all the paranoia about burning my house down resulted in the envirolite purchase. once again thanks.

I find it really hard to believe that any fire could result from leaves getting crispy fried, but better safe than sorry. I've had leaves touch my 400W many times. They get fried in spots, but they never catch on fire.

i don't think it would have caught fire, but being a smoker means the paranoid thought is always there!! The smell was the main problem for me as my mrs isn't the most tollerant of souls and went nuts as the house stunk when we returned home. Grow space is tape sealed and extracted via a roof vent now so isn't an issue. in your earlier post you mentioned not letting the plants stretch. what's your thoughts on deliberately stretching them when you go to flower mode? i've pretty much only grown and bred triffid sized sativas for the last ten years and found it increases my crop by a fair whack if you stretch them for the first week or so of flowering.

I can't say your experiences are wrong, but it seems to me that by stretching you would get roughly the same amount of weed, just spread out farther. By not letting it stretch I would think that you are able to keep the light closer to more parts of the plant instead of mainly the tips, thus likely increasing your yield. Now just because I haven't heard of stretching in flowering, doesn't mean it aint a good thing. There's a lot for me to learn yet on my path to knowing everything. Perhaps somebody could try a side by side test sometime. Hey wait a minute, I am somebody.
