Ive checked the faq, and a few others and couldn't find exactly what problem this is. Can anyone spot it? I'm currently using fox farm ocean forest soil, three 23watt and one 42watt CFL's and my plants are two weeks old.
It just recently started on the first set of leaves, not the round seedling ones, but I think they are the 'first true leaves'. Anyways, It seems to be getting worse and looks like its spreading to the next set? Is this normal?

Good to put in about what soil you are using but folks need more info than that to be useful. ;)

-indoor
-soil
-specific medium, no perlite added?
-Soil type/brand, Fox Farm Ocean Forest.
-Anything you have added to the soil
-Soil pH, Don't have a meter =[
-Water source, tap water
-Water pH, no idea
-Age of plant, 2 weeks from sprout
-Type of fertilizer, just the soil.
-Rate of application, ???
-Lighting source and distance from plant, three 23watt cfl's one 42watt cfl.
-Temperature (both day and night if you are running a dark period) no therm.
-% Relative humidity, no idea either.
-Lighting schedule 24/0
-Type of ventilation your room has. open closet, 2 pc fans, 2 regular fans.
I was thinking it was a nitrogen deficiency...
It looks alot like a nutrient burn now after looking at that FAQ, which is weird cause from others it didn't really look like it. I used fox farm from the start, and it said in there about not using it till after the 2nd week. I really just posted this for a second opinion, or anything.
The edges of the yellowed leaves looked sort of burned or something.....that doesn't really follow a nitrogen def imo. Unfortunately, I grow hydro so soil is not my strong point at all.
I'd be guessing one of two things really.......either the ph of your water is off or perhaps your soil. The other would be too much nutes in the soil for your young plants.
If you can buy some drops to check the ph of your water and soil runoff that would be great.....the drops are very inexpensive and worth knowing about your ph because that being off will mimic all sorts of other problems.......including nute burn. That would be the first thing I would check and if the ph of those are normal I'd go to nute burn next.
Well I haven't had the money for a ph meter at the moment, Any idea where I could pick up a very inexpensive testing kit?
Pet stores and hydro stores both carry very cheap liquid ph testers that will work fine for you....that's all you need really. Keep in mind however, that you should only use ph TESTERS for aquariums and not the ph ADJUSTERS for fish....they have different ingredients than the ph up and ph down made for plants.
