Hey everybody,
I am trying my first attempt at making cannaoil and wanted to know if anyone knew of a way to grind the cannabis without using a coffee grinder or blender. Here's to hoping it turns out great! ::lights joint::

I've used a regular pepper grinder in the past.
It can be a little time consuming though, and should only be tried with very dry bud.
The problem I found was getting all the resin of the macerating parts.
You might be better of just using a very sharp, fine blade and a chopping board (chef style), though that too will take a while.
Good luck anyhow
Thanks for replying, I've been pressing refresh for a while now!
No problem :)
Let us know how you get on.
You can't beat a little Christmas 'Cake' at this time of year!
Cheers!
I don't hink it is very critical that the bud be chopped very fine. Most THC is on the surface and will melt and disssolve readilly without the plant material being ground too finely. So chopping with a knife should be fine, or even just ripping it up wioth our fingers ---- that's what I do when I make Green Dragon, and it works fine.
How about a regular grinder? one made specifically for grinding up weed. U can find them in headshops 99% of the time.
it turned out ok. I didn't put enough in, so the medicinal benefits weren't strong enough. I made it for some old ladies that have really bad arthritis. I forced two spoonfuls down my throat though and damn... it was pretty sweet.
if its super-dry, you can mortar and pestel it....
I like the mini-herb choppers that they sell at target / bed, bath & beyond, etc. Its a little OXO chopper, it was like $10, chops things up real nice.

[align=center]I found this nice little grinder just laying around the house. It's originally a peppercorn grinder, but I washed it thoroughly and I used it to grind stems to make my own form of GD. It works perfectly and peppercorns are about as tough as cannabis seeds so it shouldn't have any problem grinding for you. It a glass bottle with a little plastic grinder cap on top and it cost maybe a couple dollars (if that). If you'd like a picture to know what to look for let me know.
