BUD TREE question. all comments welcome

i just started the flowering stage a week ago and want to plan ahead. i've seen pics of bud trees where the main stem has nice cola and all the fan leaves have been removed.....when does this happen? when do you remove the fan leave? AFTER the buds start to form? before flowering?

the reason i ask is because i have a nice 2 ft+ plant and it has become nice and full and busy, however, i do not want it to get out of hand. YES i do want the maximum amount of harvesting....but without having the indoor odor get out of control.

any comments on when/how (or links to places that talk about this) to manicure the plant to have bud trees. also trying to keep the harvest under control to control odor. thanks

sup kuri, don't trim any fan leaves until you are about to harvest. the fan leaves are the power houses that collect the light, and removing them will harm your plant. only cut them if they are dieing. during the last few weeks of flowering many fan leaves will die and fall off naturally.

as for controling the harvest...it depends on how long they veg. the longer they veg the larger the harvest in most cases.

oder can be controled in many ways, including ozone gen., exaust fans, air freshener, or having a low oder strain.

thanks dylan for your advice. the way it happened this time was i had the plant in veg for about 3-4 weeks due to abnormal levels in the water and growth problems, didn't want to put it to flowering until it was under control. so now that i have a bushier plant than i initially wanted, is there a way to downsize that without harming or delaying the process too much?

hey kuri, i think that the only thing that you can do, from what i have red around so far, is to try to tie it down.....if this can be done you will end up with a far bushier plant but at least you will control the height.....i will setup my cam later on, i am about to finish week 4 in veg and i want your opinion.....should i get into flowering right now or not......anyways, i'll post some pics of my beauties!!!!!!

True.

hey kuri, you can always cut a few branches off if you need too. sometimes i will cut some lower branches off my plants if they are not getting any sun right before flowering. you could even use them to try out cloning. it shouldn't hurt your plant that much as long as your carefull.

when you harvest.. big beautiful buds.... and trim them down to size....

........the odor will be out of control... you have no choice... : )
