lead in paints....

ok we all know they're bad.... most of us know why they're bad even.... my question is why we even have this problem to begin with? if we know it's not safe why is it still being used? why not just remove it completely?

i'm not really understanding why it's even still there.... like, do they use it in cheaper toys because it helps to be some type of filler and make the paint spread out more, thus cutting cost? but if that's so, surely we could find something else... is it because lead is esseintal to paint? if so, again, couldn't we just find another replacement? does anyone here know the answers?

im sure it helps the paint producers make more money.. there are alternatives but maybe lead is the cheapest.

but.. am i crazy or did the title read "Lead in pants..."? untill recently..
