Hi, today my plant started to show sex and it looks like little balls. Can these be premature calyxes or something? I'm thinking of sending it into 12/12, or should I wait untill they get bigger to see if they are indeed balls? (I doubt it's a female) Also is it very difficult to revert back to vegging if it turns out to be female? I mean, how long will it take to revert and are there any possible comlications? Well, thanks in advance everyone.

calyxs wont show visibly before the pistils.
if its got balls (don confuse with the little green offshoots at nodes that serve no apparent purpose), its a male.
females are obvious, cuz thell start popping up pairs of white hairs everywhere

yeah...the little semi-triangularish things (bracts may be the word???) that pop out at the nodes in the stem underneath the preflowers.
...im pretty sure....either way, females are obvious, and males become obvious once you realize the balls are round and growing, usuallyin clusters.

Hold all this......what kind of strain are you growing? Unless its an auto-flowering strain it shouldn't be showing anything but female preflowers until you've got it under 12/12......we need pics to tell.
Klondike.....you really should stick to your OWN plant problems.

It's bagseed so I don't know what strain it is. It's almost five weeks old and yes I am seeing very, very small round little balls where the sex organs are supposed to be, sorry no pics. Anyways I just cut the light cycle to 10 hours from 15 hours after seeing the tiny little balls. They're not in clusters just two of them or more at each node, I assume they start to cluster up after a while.

Wait.......could you go through your lighting schedule for me? How many hours a day were they getting for the firstt five weeks?

There are certain books and sources of info that state anything under 16hrs of light a day can cause the plant to begin flowering.....shorter light cycle so it makes me wonder if:
1. Is your plant already flowering due to less light hours or is the plant showing preflowers?
2. If your plant is already flowering and IS a female....your yield is going to be pretty small due to the lack of veg time.
3. Is the plant a male or female?
4. Has the plant begun flowering or not?
Without photos......I'm afraid I won't be much help here.

This plant would start drooping it's leaves and looking dead after 15 hours lol
