My friend has been growing for quite a while and whenever I enter his room where he grows, my eyes begin to hurt after looking at his babies because of the light. I am wondering if this is a concern at all if I decide to grow given I have bad eye sight already. My friend says you get used to it but he does feel like he's lost ability in his eye's pigmentation. Anyone have any ideas?
I wear sunglasses while around my lamps.Your sight is a precious thing. Metal Halide and HPS,can be damaging to the skin as well as the eyes.

well the directions with my ballast said never look directly ino the light, but after a wile it dosent even look that bright, but all it does is bleaches you retina (if you were to stair into it for a couple mins)which, can take up to 30mins before you can see the darkest levels of colors.
yeah when I smoke looking at my plants(HPS&CFL) my eyes have a hard time trying to focus so I started wearing sunglasses
You need sunglasses that block Uv rays...especially on Metal Halides.
