I know it shouldn't be done because they can get tangeled up and root bound! However if thre pot is big enough can it be done in soil.I have seen it done it dwc in rubbermaid containers. just a question

It's a REALLY bad idea.
If you insist on putting more than one plant in a large container or soil bed, you MUST use female clones, preferably of the same mother.
you definitely shouldn't grow more than one plant per pot, it will limit the plant, and what you will be able to do with it ... but, when I used to use free bagseeds, I would plant three seeds per pot, and would snip off all but the best one, when they were only a few days old, too small to put any significant roots out ... :smokin:
