Rubbermaid help

I just finished a rubbermaid growbox like many others here have built. Sorry, no pictures yet, but they're coming. I have six 26w cfl with a 4" inline fan and passive intake. The fan is the duct booster type (tiny fan inside a 4" metal duct) which supposedly pulls 65 cfm or 85 boosted. On my test run, temps inside the box reached 100 F. Ouch! Is it likely that a speed controller boosting the fan will be enough to control my problem, or should I resort to buying a different fan or run dual fans of the same type?

Well, I disconnected the scrubber and enlarged the intakes, and temps are way down. Maybe with the speed control and larger intakes, and short straight duct to the scrubber I will be ok. I'd still like to hear any input you might have.

I'm still rockin' 88-90 degrees in there... Has anyone else had this problem? Please help.

youll need either more space or more airflow. upgrade the fans or increase the size of the holes.

I have a rubbermaid grow box try increaseing your intake air flow, I use a 4" in line duct fan for exhaust with carbon scubber and keep temps around 70 to 75 deg.

I have yet to build my rubbermaid box BUT I believe you are using the bottom of the rubbermaid which encloses the box, don't use the bottom. You can see in some of Bodoms pictures, he's not using the bottom until, either it starts stinking or most likely when you have to 12/12 due to keeping out light.

Prop your stuff up with CD cases or books like in Bodoms pictures and it basically keeps the whole bottom as a passive intake. It should help your temps while vegging and all.

Thanks all for the words of advice. I'm gonna monkey with it. I think I have virtually the same setup several others here have. I'm just anxious to get my first grow going in there. Any other thoughts? Does anyone have pics of their passive intake on a rubbermaid box or at least want to tell me the size?
