Vaps for recreational use?

So im hearing more and more on these boards, that Vaporizers are all well and good if your looking for a medicinal high with your herb.

But if looking for a recreational "stoned" high, the vaporizer just doesnt seem to get you there.

What would you guys think?

Personally, my lungs are hurt, 10 years of smoking blunts + asamah, doesnt help much. So im looking for a cleaner, cough free, healthier smoke.

So i'd assume the vaporizer is for me, but at the same time, I love that stony high from smoking, and if vaporizers produce more of an active/medicinal high, would you think the vap is a good morning/afternoon get active and high type method, and maybe resulting to a blunt or bong rip at the end of the night, to get the "opposite" high?

I got a vaporizer a while back for recreational use and I have to say it is awesome. It is much more efficient, easier on the lungs, and you will certainly get really really high though it's a different kind of high. The thing about vaporizing is that you get the effects of the thc without burning the weed. So will you get stoned? Yes. But you don't get the full bouquet as you do with smoking it.

I don't know this for sure but it seems to me that there are more cannabinoids that create different highs and some of those you only get when the weed is actually burned.

Should you get a vaporizer? I say definitely, esp. if you want something easier on the lungs but don't think that you won't ever cough you can still take very big hits that will blow your mind but it won't be as harsh. I use mine frequently but I also continue to use my bong, roll blunts etc. The high you get from vaping is a really powerful head high.

Very usefull info :D Well, since theres a temp controll on most vaporizers, could you, say vaporize the herb at the highest possible temp, like.. for example, if i had a volcano, could i vap some herb at the highest temp and fill the bag with, basicly a pure, burnt herb, "bong" rip of a hit, or does a vaporizers highest temp still not high enough to burn it?

Yeah if you turn it up all the way you'll burn it, but i prefer to keep it at a lower temp. I usually save it after I vap it even though its pretty much all used up. Sometimes when you're really desperate you can load it in a bong and smoke it. It's really really dry and it's not very effective but you can get a small high from it when you're totally out. Alternatively I also use it to cook with (in addition to fresh bud).
