Why do bongs get me higher

it seems too drastic to be by chance

More smoke is entered into the lungs at once so I'm guessing it has to do with more THC being absorbed into your lungs from a massive bong hit.

The water also filters the smoke so it the smoke you hit has more thc in it.

How would filtering the smoke add THC?

The water cools the smoke, allowing you to take substantially bigger hits without it being so harsh. If you hit the bong the way that you hit a joint, you'd get just as high as you would from a joint (assuming that it was the same amount of weed).

I heard it clumps the THC together and allows more THC to be aborbed before your high reaches its peak

Yeah because the hit you take would have a higher percentage of THC than normal hit out of something like a bowl or joint.
