wouldnt it just dry up or start burning or sumthing?
I've microwaved a joint before for a few minutes and it was noticeably better than the j of that stuff I smoked the day before.
It's possible....maybe your just activating the THC...i dunno how it works or the chemistry behind it but we got some bright minds here! Lets figure this thing out! ;-)
If your bud is properly cured [which it should be if you aint getting ripped off] it'l do sweet fuck all. If you've got shitty wet bud, it'll supposidly do something.
ive tried this with properly cured weed and found no difference in the potency, just much smoother smoke. ive also tried this with damp weed and found myself getting much higher than usual, and the weed not tasting like shit.
If its low grade stuff the remaining THCa will be converted into THC incresing the potency, but if its been properly cured then most of the THCa has already been converted and its not necessary to activate it.
I would never use a microwave on pot, myself ... I'm not a scientist, but THC escapes from the buds around 350 degrees or less in a vaporizer, and THC is destroyed at temps not much hotter than that (or so, I have read)... a microwave vibrates molecules to create internal heat from that friction, and, it heats most efficiently in fat and sugar cells .. fat=oil=THC ?? ... just a thought
bull... microwaves make the substance hot by stimulating water molecules. Its gonna burn up your water, but your THC is going to be unaffected because it is an oil-base, not water.
I always bake my blunts for about 20 seconds and I still get high so the microwave at least doesn't destroy any of the THC, but I can't say that I've noticed a difference in potency between baked and non-baked bud.
