Make a goal

All jokes aside.
Everyone should try and strive for goals. Something that will make you feel better, fun stuff, relationships, money, advancement..there are so many. A lot of times we think of things that we would like to do, but somehow put it on the back burner..waiting..for some kind of miracle to happen in order to achieve our goal..
I think a lot of times we dont even know what our goals are, so, without identifying them there is no way to achieve them.
So, in this thread it would be cool, if you post in this thread 1 specific goal..and update your plan of action and how close you are to achieving it. Then once you achieve it say that too..
Dont make your goal so big that you could never possibly achieve thus, setting you up for a failure. maybe another..failure brings fear and we dont want no fear.
I go first, I have over 2000 flyers..that I spent good money to make, that I need to get distrubuted..but it has not happened..I set the goal to have these gone in 2 weeks..so that is November 24..right around thanksgiving..if I had that done, i would be happy.:)

i'll make 2..make some kind of decision of where I really want to live..by monday night.:(

ok i will post in this thread when my life is completely content because i have done or reached the following:

break up with my bitch g/f, or she no longer acts like a bitch

get my braces off

have lots of money saved

start college

am out of this fucking town.

those are all things i look forward too

I have two goals:

1. To be caught up with school by the end of November. I missed about two weeks of it to be in and out of the hospital dealing wtih heart-rhythm related crap. I have four lab tests to make up, one regular test, and a manageable amount of reading. I feel panicky that I won't make this or that I'll fail. I'll feel more content and relaxed if I can catch completely up.

2. To make it through this school year without any more hospitalizations, illnesses or surgeries. So far I've got four days under my belt. I need about 180 more of those to get me to mid-May.

My main goal is to graduate from college, and I've been budgeting and cutting expenses to save money.

indiscriminate goal-making can be quite futile. I have a friend who talks about his goals, and has written them down. But all I hear about what he's actually doing involves things that are acting upon him, being victimized by circumstance and lacking progress because of it. He expects the goals to sort of happen TO him, after doing nothing but the same thing he's always done.

I classify everyone into 2 types: consumers and producers. It goes down to the intangibles. The consumers are constantly thinking about their own lives, directing thoughts inward, wondering how the world could afflict them so. Producers don't enjoy discussing the petty events of their lives with others, they would rather share ideas, knowing any personal thing they could complain about, is already had by everyone. Producers are always extracting more and more energy from within. They realize that the potency of the human experience is derived from within the soul; that anything one can rely on and utilize for practical action is in raw abundance internally. They don't see progress and success as something that is given, it's created.

Anyway my point is: a goal shouldn't be considered such unless it takes on a viable consciousness. It needs to be on the forefront of thoughts, not merely a hope that is undernourished due to latency, expecting to be made manifest sometime in the future. A goal needs to be considered imminent, even existent already, and should be craved, hungered for. THat is a formula for accomplishment. If your goal doesn't take the form of a consuming, demanding entity, it will be difficult for it to materialize. I like to keep reminders of goals visibly displayed around me, such as pictures of Europe (although I've been twice and the memory of it is so pervasive and perpetual, I really don't need visible reminders).

Other goals of mine include: acquiring a botany degree and a literature degree (or equivalent), to expand my grow into a quasi grow-room situation, to travel to my place of upbringing 4 times a year, to take my kids on a trip to the east coast to tour university campuses when they're 10 and 12, a house that's energy independent, etc.

Plain and simple, do the best I can and when I'm older be able to look back and smile at all I had done.

Right now I'm in a bit of a turmoil since I screwed around my freshman year in college, this year i dropped out and am now workin p/t at a fuckin grocery store. Word of wisdom to the youngsters here, don't get caught up in the parties n shit and be lazy in college or you might just end up in my position. I hate it, I hate it, and I hate it...did I say I hate it??? I'm hopefully, going to be going back to school this comin spring semester if I decide it's what I want to do or I may take another semester off, look around more, and then decide what I want to do.

So I'm just keeping it simple and want to be able to look back when I'm old and be proud of what I'd done, even if I'm not driving the hottest car, making huge money, or have the trophy wife, I just want to know I gave it all I had. (Hope this makes sense)

There are several things I would like to have accomplished before I am 30, so I have 2 years on that--finish school with MLT degree, advance at current job, stop smoking cigarettes. More short term goal--provide Christmas gifts for my daughter, with the economy in its current state. Long term goals--play in the Main Event @WSOP, buy a house, and I like the one about it being energy independent--anyone see the houses in Washington DC built by college students? They were very nice and totally energy independent, I believe the German students won the competition.
