Just finished first indica cycle...

Got a question, I am used to sativas that double and in some cases (Sour D) nearly triple in size during flowering, but the Af-Goo\SuperSilverHaze mix I just grew barely at all veritcally during flower.

Is this pretty typical of indicas? Alot of sources on the net say indicas won't even double, while other sources say every plant should double in size during flower.

My yield is a bit lower than it should be because I anticipated them doubling in size during flower, and I'm curious if I should plan to veg for longer if I do indica again or if this was a trait specific to the genetics.

Indica dominant plants do generally stretch less than their sativa relatives, but the amount of stretch is still variable among them. I'd say yes, it IS pretty typical that you didn't see a signifcant stretch compared to sativas you'd experinced previously.
Sure, go ahead and increase veg time on the next indica crop, and focus on creating a continuous, thick canopy, which is the way to squeeze maximum yield out of an indica.

These were pretty much just straight up and down, I didn't mother but if I could turn back time I'd so a SOG set up with them, and have them in 1 gallons instead of 3 gallons... and would have had about 15 more than I grew.

The side shoots were also very close to the main colas, when growing it almost appeared they had no side shoots (just one cola it looked like) Is that pretty typical of indica as well?

The big dense single thick main cola is a GREAT trait to see in an SOG plant; all the side growth becomes part of the cola... beautiful! Very indica.

Next time I will find room to make a mother somehow someway... you gotta have control over your own clones so you can alter some things once you get to know your strain. The guessing game is getting a bit old for me.
