Harshest Hits EVER, Why?

I have a wooden-box, hands-free type vaporizer with glass whip. Ceramic heating element (supposedly). I set the digital temp to 185 degrees Celsius. Dry mid grade bud.

After 2 or 3 hits the smoke gets thicker and I take huge rips out of it. They are so insanely harsh, the pain and urge to cough are indescribable. I been smoking for a while so I know my lungs are used to it, I barely cough from grav-bongs.

Why are these vape hits so painful? Am I taking too big of a hit? Is the temperature too high? I just don't get why they are so harsh if they are supposed to be better for your lungs. Feedback appreciated.

Umm... I'm not sure why your getting this reaction... I've never coughed from a vape...

Capes are smooth and taste great...

its probably too hot. the box might be too big as well. my ones about the size of a jam jar. with the left over smoked material , it s literally only been steamed so it looks like its still worth smokin although all the smoking bits have gone

How brown is the weed after you vape it?

The fact that you say it's "Thick smoke" sounds like a red flag that you're burning your weed, not vaping it. Granted, I'm not vape expert, but that sounds reasonable. Set it lower...

Sounds like a Vapor Tech unit.


I had one and ended up giveing it away for a Vapor Brothers.


I liked the VT unit, but there are more accessories for the VB unit.


IF it is a Vapor Tech unit, the Display is in Celcius.


What we do is , Set it at 170 ( that is were THC is vaporized).


All you will see is Vapor, when you exhale your breath will look like it does on a cool morning. NOTHING SHOULD EVEN REMOTELY BE HARSH.


Take a few deep hits, Stir it take 2 or 3 more.

The weed should look tan or light brown at the end.

Put the used weed to the side and repeat.

If you fall on hard times, pull out the old weed and set the unit 180 and you can smoke off the old stuff till it gets dark. I personally dont get a light happy go lucky type High from this , I get a deep deep stone footed Elephant type from it, but it beats not getting stoned.

I don't know, I'm having the same problem. I can take hits fine, I cough bad after taking hits with my light bulb vape but I can smoke a bowl and not cough at all. :wtf: Weird.

lightbulb vapes seem to make me cough something terrible. I can smoke pipes and bongs without coughing too bad as long as its good weed (not schwag). If it's schwag I cough horribly.
