Purple stems?

i kno a lot of people have asked about this but here we go.

conditions:
-80 degrees F. at all times(sometimes 75)
-Small grow room.(6 feet tall by 2 feet deep by 21 inches wide)
-using a T5 compact fluorescent bulb with hood(gunna switch to a HPS lamp when sex shows)
-plant is about 3-4 inches from light
-only one plant is affected by the purple stem
-looks pretty healty
-using 24-8-16 with micronutrients(added 1 t. to a gallon of tap)
-Live in Colorado(no humid.)
-use fert. once every week
-tap water is about the best you can drink caus i live right up against the mountain
-soil grow
-bigger pots than they were in before(plastic cups)
-been about 5-6 weeks since seeded(cant remember when i started all of this:stoned:)

anything helps!

oh yeah and that last pic is marijuana man on youtube being really roasted. anyone whos watched him knos this is funny.

how big is that pot, and how long have they been in that one....

from what i know purple stems can be genetic or due to a lack of nutrients.
it seems to me that nutes you are using are pretty strong, espically if you soil is good and rich. if you over feed your plants the nutrient salts will build up in the soil and be deemed unusable by the plant.
my advice would be to leech the soil with straight water, wait a few days
and mix up a 1/2 strength foliar feed. use this till you see a change.

Do follow the advice given, but it could be entirely harmless. Purple stems are a recessive genetic trait as well as sometimes a sign of problems.

Yeah I have always been plagued with Red Stems since I started growing. In fact I have yet to have a grow (diffrent strains) that don't go purpal.

I get great results ither way. Would I love to toally nail down the problem of course but I don't let it stress me out ither.

I found a Little Folier feed with some Bloom fertz (K) Helps me from getting anymore purpal stems, but in my experience they have never gone from Purpal back to green. However I have noticed the veins of the plant will turn from redish to green again.
