Worst Halloween Costume EVER

Papi and I were in Wal-Mart last Friday night, picking up some last minute odds and ends for Thing2's birthday party Saturday. There were several little children dressed in costumes, and we were looking at them, admiring their cuteness. There was a little doctor, and a princess, and a little boy wearing some sort of animal costume, but with the headpiece down, I couldn't quite make it out. He got a little closer, and I recognized it. Now I am compelled to post this public service announcement.

If your children are of African/African-American descent DO NOT BUY THE CURIOUS GEORGE COSTUME FOR THEM.

I don't care how much the little tyke pleads and whines. It's for their own good. They'll thank you later for being firm and buying the Transformers costume instead, and the other people in Wal-Mart won't be looking around for the White man in the Big Yellow Hat.

Oh. My. God. That is AWFUL.

LOL I know! Papi was laughing at me because as he put it "I can always tell when you're really shocked by something. Your face gets really composed and your voice gets really calm and polite."
I mean really, what was that little boy's mom thinking? As if we don't have it rough enough without dressing up our kids like monkeys.

On a side note, I also saw the hottest costumes at Wally's that same night. 4 college boys, all of them buff as hell, 2 dressed like Indians, and 2 dressed like cowboys, chasing each other through the store. The ones dressed like indians were shirtless, wearing loooow slung tight buckskins, and the cowboys had on tight Wranglers and boots. I looked at Papi and said "I just saw an entire porn movie in my head."
Those boys were hotness.

i wore torn up jeans with a white garbage bag that said "white trash" on the front of it...if it's any consolation.

I saw an awesome costume on a small kid...it was a chuckie costume! never had seen anything like it before, when I have kids I'm going to have them wear a chuckie outfit and mask several times a year, just to freak people out :D

i dont understand whats the difference between the white little child in a curious george costume vs a black little child in a curious george costume?
