Those cards don't serve any legal purpose, I have something similar as well, and I've always been told I need the written doctors recommendation. I believe it is up to the co-op's discretion of whether or not to accept a laminated card from your doctor instead of the written recommendation, but the co-ops I've been to always want the written one and don't care much for the card I got from my doctor. It would be easier to just use a card, but I feel for legal reasons it's a good idea to always be carrying your written recommendation while you are carrying your medicine. Do most co-ops in your area normally accept the cards as a substitute?
on the site i found which lists the co-ops it says which document is required. they say some need the written and the card, while others only need the card. i just usually take the written, since its simple enough.
I have only ever found them to want to see the written certificate and my driver's license. But I have not used many co-ops, so I don't have any idea what most do. It would be so much EASIER to use the card only, especially as it has my photo on it. The rules for legal marijuana use seem so flimsy. Having said that, I am not complaining as I am just glad that I live in a state that allows it.
although I do not patronize co-ops, I do carry a copy of my long-form paperwork, along with my Vehicle Registration and Proof of Insurance, right in my glove compartment, that way, it's handy when I'm away from home ... original is in a safe ... :smokin:
I have been told by every co-op or dispensary that I have checked out that they are required by law to see the original doctors' recommendation with seal/stamp intact. If other accept only the ID card they are not in compliance with state law.
^I thought it was state law too, but I have heard about one co-op in particular that was in the same building complex as a pot doctor facility that distributes ID cards, and that co-op took the cards. I never tried personally though.
Now I wonder if co-ops can use the state issues ID if available?
ya most co-ops dont really take it.. some in L.A. do.. i just stick to a few great ones.. and i get in with only my Smile:D lol. To be safe always have and take your recommendation. <--4reals---
I think the original poster was referring to MediCann specifically. Are clubs really not recognizing MediCann recommendations as legit? I'm in the process of setting up an appointment with them, so I'd really like to know beforehand.
I get in @ green door with medicann
