Causes what? I don't see any problems. If you're talking about the side growth, what causes that is good light penetration. Your plant is happy and growing. Am I missing something?
The branches are not lined up, sort of random growth, and gets worse the higher up the plant you go. Maybe this pic will help.
Ahhh, I see what you mean. Well, don't take this to the bank, but I read somewhere that females tend to exhibit that erratic branching, while males are more symmetrical. Ain't that just like a woman to be all over the place? ;)
edited to add: Do you know the sex on this yet? If it turns out to be female, let me know. I'm interested in testing that theory.
^^ I tend to agree... previous males in my garden have been quite uniform, too good to be women.. but i'm currently looking a 3 sexy females that display uneven and random nodes/internodes which almost look like it they are supposed to be that way. 3 clones from the same mother that are growing identically show me that that randomness has some kind of order...
well thats good to know, might be a female. weird part is i only had this happen to these 2 plants, at the same time. they will be going under 12/12 very soon, i'll post if they turn out female.
one other question, if plants are left under 24hr light will they show sex after a few months old?
in my experience male and female plants will exhibit this type of branch growth based on the age of the plant, usually about a month into veg. from what i've read its a sign that the plant is mature enough to induce flowering
lol...it cant just be female...my male split its 5-blade leaf in half and shuffled 3 of the blades a 1/2" further down the fan stem????
looks pretty retarded that way..
personally, yor plant is COVERED in branching and leaves, so dont complain
In my experience, I notice that that happens to my plants if they are from clone. I have never seen a plant from seed do this.
Good looking healthy plant though, I wouldnt worry about it all the plants I have growing look the very same(not lining up)
They start to grow alternating nodes when they get older.
