It's called curing, and it should make it more potent, smell better, and taste better.
The method I've always done to cure bud, is put it in an airtight container (pill-bottle works), and open it twice a day for 5 minutes. Do this for a week to a month, depending on how much you want to cure it.
It makes a huge difference in the way the weed smokes. If you can get a hold of a mason jar, most major grocery stores sell them for like 2 bucks a piece.
i found that a brown paper bag like a lunch bag left in the sun works just as well as a jar
Yes, curing will make the smoke much smoother, smell much better, and the taste of the herb will come through in the smoke. Some say it increases potency via decarboxylation, but I am not 100% sure about that. Also, it's possible that the high is cleaner, too, since curing also breaks down chlorophyll, so you aren't smoking as much of that. Some also say it allows for the high to be longer, too.
No one menioned that the weed should be dry before you store it in any airtight jar to cure. Never store wet cannabis in airtight containers as that will result in mold.
Dry it first, then use an airtight container. A pill bottle is not airtight.
yes, I think it def. increases quality of smell, taste, high....... Burns much better as well..
Good idea but not with the pill bottle, use a mason jar or just go to a hobby story and look for some glass containers
