drying
ok...i've been drying a couple of beautiful little girls for about a week now...this is my first grow so i'm not exactly sure what to expect at this point. they're in a dark walk thru closet with a small fan on em from a distance (the fan is only occasionally) and they seem to be drying nicely. my question is that the buds still feel quite loose and (brown) hairy. not tight like the good buds i'm used to buying. the plants are only about a foot and a half tall (very small closet grow) and when i harvested them, they were fat and succulent just like all the pics i see on here. I just want to make sure that I dont screw up the last step after putting sooooo much love and attention into these beautiful litle girls. I want to achieve that perfect bud quality and not something that's gonna crumble into dust as soon as I break it apart. (is there such a thing as over drying??)

drying
plants like most living things are made of mostly water so when you dry you loose most your weight
there are few reasons it could have been loose/airy
light source too far away
light source to weak to penetrate canopy. what type of light do you have?
stress and strain
you can over dry buds, generally if you can break a branch and hear it snap, their generally about ready to put in jars, usually takes atleast 7-10 days before you jar up
