Has anybody passed a drug test because they have a Marinol prescription?

I have been wondering for some time if this would work, could you get a pre-scription for Marinol, and then show that prescription when taking a drug test so you couldn't fail the test for marijuana?

In theory it sounds like it might work, unless of course the toxicologist scans for other compounds found in marijuana that are not present in Marinol, but is this common? Is it hard to get a prescription for Marinol? I have Crohn's so I'm not sure how many doctors would prescribe it for me, (my current one won't, I know that for sure!). I'm not looking to use Marinol, I just want the prescription to pass the drug test without having to use fake piss.

I don't believe what you say is true at all, this site clearly states that Dronabinol, (the synthetic form of THC used in Marinol), can create a false positive in drug tests for marijuana. This is also confirmed by another source found here. With all due respect, please don't post information you are not 100% certain is true, it only makes it that much harder to get my question answered.

So my question still stands, does anybody know if drug testing labs can know if you are using marijuana and not Marinol?

Due to privacy issues, you don't tell or show the collector your prescriptions. The MRO would call, you would tell him, and he would verify the script, and pass unless your THC metabolite level was much higher than it should be.

Every time I've ever taken a drug test the form has always asked what medications I'm taking, in the distant past I had also even been asked to bring the medication in with me for the test, however the place I get randomly tested at for my work never asks to physically see the medication, but it does have a spot to list what medications I am using and what condition I take them for.

Do you know if it is often that they would check for other compounds that would come from Marijuana and not Marinol, such as CBD and CBN levels? By the way, this is for DOT drug testing in case that would make a difference.
