nobody ever used a conversion bulb, and noticed a heat difference ?
Yeah i did but strangley the MH seemed cooler !
I take it your using it for veg ?
MH for veg .. HPS for flower ... I just cant spend the money right now for another ballast, etc., so I ordered these 400-watt conversions, for now ... I had just assumed they may run hotter than a 'regular' HPS, wondered if anyone knew ... regardless, I'll know for sure in a few days ... :smokin:
Good deal on a conversion bulb
Dutch:pimp: was just diggin around looking into them too . I think he was looking into the ones w/ a built in reflector though = more $$$$$ ? = short term memory . :bonghit:
He might have run 1 already to test it out for temp. chgs. in his space regardless of having a hard time germin beans this grow - he might have feedback ?
Peace bro.
Crispi :stoned:
I was within seconds of topping out the old credit card on another new ballast and MH setup, when I remembered the 'conversion lamp' option ... my present ballast is only 1.5 years old, w/5 year warranty, so I couldn't justify another one, yet ... I guess it doesn't matter much, how hot it runs, I'm gonna run it anyway :D ... research tells me I should get in the habit of wearing UV protection around them, and watch for cracks in the globe ... just what I need, another health hazard :wtf: ... thanks for the help, folks ... :smokin:
I'm gonna test my CMH bulb...in a few days...took forever to germinate seeds....4/10...:(
Wow ...$35 for a 400 conversion bulb!!!...I've been shopping in the wrong places.
right here, DP :
400 Watt Metal Halide Bulbs
they're in Texas, I've bought quite a few things from them, very good outfit ... when I had a broken sodium bulb arrive, they immediately sent a replacement, and a UPS Pickup Tag, for the broken one ...
...that will be my next choice if this CMH bulb don't fly...:jointsmile:Quote:
