Shemale or not shemale?

Got 2 beautiful plants growing in a wardrobe- both feminised "The Church" by Green House. They're now about 1.2 metres tall, into their 5th week of 12/12 and budding furiously.
Anyway, knowing feminised plants propensity for going hermi my wife & I have been monitoring their progress closely, and about 3 days ago we noticed what we took to be early signs of ascending testicles on one of the plants. By this I mean that we spotted small buds, almost spherical but coming to a very slight point at the top. They only seem to have formed in either bare internodes or small, immature buds- the main colas seem to be free of alien growth, at least for now.
Although this is our third grow the first 2 turned out to be 100% macho so they were dumped (at the bottom of a coppers' garden at 3am- oh, how we laughed!). Therefore we have absolutely no experience of growth rates other than for males. On our previous attempts the male pre-flower (?) looked something like these, but the weird thing is that they don't seem to be developing in the same way as previous entire males.
On those chaps the bud quickly changed to the typical ball on a stick appearance, followed swiftly by the 3-way division that left it looking like a club a la playing cards. What I would like to know is whether hermi male flowers develop differently to their brethren, in terms of either speed or physical appearance? Luckily it had only been 72 hours since I moved them into a new cabinet (more height, ventilation- stress!?!) , so I've put our bicurious friend back in its' old haunt; we're going to try and keep on top of bud removal (if they ARE buds) but if we screw up it should minimise the chances of cross pollination. Any tips or suggestions would be really welcome.
BTW I really apologise for not including any pix, but my phone doesn't do macro. I've just bought a cheap camera off e-Bay so hopefully I'll be able to post some photos in the next couple of days. That might serve to clarify things somewhat.

yup, we're gonna need photos to be of any help ... hopefully you will warn other potential seed-buyers about your bogus results from 'feminized' seeds ... I have read some pretty poor opinions on that "Church' strain in particular, as well as poor Greenhouse gear, in general ... sorry about your bad luck, hope things look up :thumbsup:

i bought the feminized church from greenhouse and had it outdoors. i only planted 2 and both turned out female but il b sure to keep an eye on them. no problems up 2 now tho

Yeah, I considered this but rejected it cos its supposed to be used much earlier in the flowering period than week #5 which is where I am now. plus you have to use it in combination with Penetrator which makes it an expensive exercise for 1 plant. Its just that it seems to be taking SO long to develop to a point where I can make a definitive identification as to status.
Regarding Green House Seeds in general, and The Church in particular, I have to say that my experiences have been overwhelmingly positive; my other plant is looking and smelling beautiful, and considering the seeds less than £11 for 5 (I still have 3 left) I reckon they're an absolute bargain. I actually chose this strain because of its proven resistance to bud rot- an important consideration when you're growing in a small space with marginal ventilation. Several of my mates have grown Arjans' Haze (Can't remember which variety) and they grew and smoked superbly. Guess its all down to personal experience and budget.

Yep.....you are quite correct that Reverse needs to be used preemptively vs once you have a problem. I've found it to be worth every single penny I've spent on it....because it works. Excellently. ;) I'm a grower who NO MATTER WHAT manages to stress my plants out brilliantly somewhere along each grow. Reverse fixes my mistakes. I love that. :thumbsup:

You shouldn't be having a problem "identifying status" at five weeks.....no matter what. If the question is "did it hermie?" then that is a question you will be asking all the way to the end of the grow as male flowers could occur at any time so there is no point where you can sit back and relax.....until it's plucked and trimmed. :) From reading your post you seem to have a darn good idea what growing is about so I have a feeling that if you think the plant has hermied.....it did. That's just a guess though. :jointsmile:

As promised, here's a pic of one of the offending protruberances. sorry about the quality, but the postman (remember him?) let me down re my camera so I resorted to my phone. Hopefully you'll be able to discern enough to form an opinion. This is one of about a dozen that I've spotted, and all have formed on internodes where there is little or no bud growth. This one has taken over a week to develop from a slight bump to the monster you see before you- pretty slothful given that we're into week 5 of 12/12. her sister shows no similar signs. Any suggestions welcome. Thanx for persevering.

Wow- thanks for all the opinions, but guess what? Seems likewe were all wrong; 24 hours after my last post the "bud" had split and produced 2 lovely feelers (Thats what they look like to me anyway). I'm not sure if it's relevant, but each emerging pistil was accompanied by a pair of leaves. One things for sure, the 2 plants are very different in appearance and my other gal has not exhibited similar buds. Still, it's a load off my mind- would have been the ultimate irony if I'd gone ahead, plucked all the buds off and the stress had hermied the plant:(
