Why wont she call?

I met this woman at the gym a couple of weeks ago and it seemed that we hit it off pretty well. She is new to the area and I gave her my phone number if she wanted someone to show her around. She never called. I saw her again this week and she came up to me and started talking about how she heard about this dog-park where she could take her dogs in town. I told her I knew where this park is and that she should give me a call (she still had my phone number) and we could go together. She agreed that she would call me.

It still a little bit early (10:30 am) but why would she take my phone number, tell me she would call me to go out, and then not do it? I know why women string guys out like this (they don't want to hurt the guy's feelings) but I am getting pretty tired of it!

Ok. She's NOT "stringing [you] along". You've had only 2 conversations with her. She doesn't even know you. You can't be "strung along" after only 2 conversations.

Another thing: You gave her your phone #. She didn't ask for it. She may have felt awkward when you gave it to her. She's probably kind & did not wish to hurt your feelings.

She may very well not be interested in you romantically, but thinks you're a cool guy. Please don't blow it by being needy or overly attentive. That freaks women out. Smile, wave hello & let her approach you.

Don't read into it so much. She could very well be not interested in you, so just accept that. Who cares? Maybe she only dates complete assholes who abuse her. You just have no idea.

Go to the gym & concentrate on your workout.
Talk to her like you would ANY casual acquaintance.
And STOP telling her to call you! She knows she has your ph #. You don't have to keep reminding her. The less pressure she feels, the safer she will feel, & that may increase the chances of her calling you.

I think you need to get her number, but really you are thinking too much about this one girl, and if you do that too much you will give off a scent of desperation to her, and no girl will date a guy they think is desperate. My suggestion, talk to some other girls in the gym. If she sees you talking to other girls she'll have more interest in you. Girls don't want to date the single guy, they want the guy that can have any girl he wants, so talk to some hotties. This is also good for 2 reasons, you could get 2 phone numbers rather than just 1 ;)

Nailhead speaks the truth bro! if your too needy and grab too hard they avoid like plague. Do your regular routine and when you bump into her act like you hardly notice her. If you withdraw if she's interested then she will initiate contact with you. Nothing turns them off like feeling you desperatly want them, it sets all the alarms. Make them think that they are making the decision. I used to talk to them a bit and then ignore them somewhat and that seems to get them to show interest, way more than chasing them hard. Get more#'s just by talking to girls, that is the key. I learned that long time ago. A friend of mine would get more by not trying than I could by trying my hardest. I asked him one day how he did it and he told me to acknowledge their presence but to have a confident distant air. That way they ask themselves: Why didn't he hit on me?? He must have something better, what better than me?? I bet I can get him to hit on me. Then you have her thinking that she wants you to hit on her so she talks to you and the game you wanted to play out is a foot. Trick being to make them think it is their idea. It's a bitch when you know want some ptang so bad but you have to act like it don't even matter to you just to get something cooking.

Thanks for all the advice! My org. post sounds like I am needy, desperate, etc. but in fact, I have talked to her more than twice & she has also come up to me to start the conversation. I know I have shown desperation with other girls in the past but I have been acting different with this one. I am also sure she is single because every girl who who has a BF will try to bring that fact into the conversation. Plus it is hard to talk to other girls in the gym because they are college students and I work for the college (she is not a student).
