RAISING PH LEVELS

Can i use baking soda to raise my ph levels, i have to wait a wk for my testing kit and solution to arrive and i need to do something quick, i cant find lime either!!!

any suggestions!!!!

In what, soil, fert solution, or a hydro reservoir?

take 1 tablespoon of baking soda mix in water and drink it, its extremely salty, which our plants object to....

baking soda works but should only be used in an emergency & may cause further issues

lime should be used prior to planting, once lime hydrates it can easliy burn the roots

IMO ..hold out for ph up if you can

i had similar issues, for a temporary fix try mixing a bit of hardwood ash into the water (this is assuming you're growing in soil). It wont permanently fix your problem since the molarity of the ash and water mixture is pretty low, but it will help slow the damage done to your plant atleast.

and as ganjaguerilla said...stay away from baking soda if you can.

btw i recently watched the video you made on ph and flushing GG, and i gotta say, thanks man. The video really cleared up alot of stuff for me and helped me to understand what preventative measures i should take and how to fix things should said measures fail.

Uhhhh ...if you're waiting for your pH test kit, how do you know what your pH is, or how to adjust it? :wtf:

i had a ph kit which ran out a days before my first post, there it 5.8 which is low. in a rush i bought a cheap tablet form soil ph tester which showed the same, yellow solution, which is acidic. i did a quick test and mixed a little baking powder in there and it turned light green( but on the slightly yellow side. not a perfect result but i knew it had improved.) i used it on one of my plants and after a few days is back to normal.one of my plants is almost at the point of no return tho. well, it was a friend who grew them 1st. i changed the soil to bio bizz all mix, fed it well, tested it regular. now it doesnt get better or worse.i split one of the bud nodes and found the connection to its stem was dark brown. anyone know what that is. obviously not good. most of the leaves fall off at the slightest touch. and are holding a lot of water. im thinking due to the stem connection dieing, water or nutrients cant get in or out. the bud has literally gone dark brown n horrible. if i shook the plant i reckon half would just fall off. but there a good nodes down the bottom, leaves seem healthy, would it be smart to count my losses with this one and take some cuttings from the healthy nodes and re-plant. every time i look at it i just wanna put it out of its misery. id rather use the resources on my healthy plant.

You said in one of your posts use lime, i bought some hygrenated lime and wawnt to use it on my 3 week old plants, how can I go about doing that? If you can help that owuld be great
