Hey names Pudder

I just started growing about 1 week ago. My plants I thought were growing good until I seen pics of others at one week old. This made me wonder if I had the right stuff going for me.

I will be posting pics of what I have and all that but I also had a few questions about growing.

1.) Does cigarette smoke really harm the plants?

2.) When should Co2 be added to the plants. Is this through out vegi growth or all the time?

3.) How do you stop stretch? My plants seem to be stretching. Is this usually cause by not enough light to the plants? I just added another light after the 1st week. Hope that this will correct the problem.

4.) Should feeding be every third watering. Meaning feed with plant food. Or when should this be done.

5.) What is the average plany height? I know that different strains grow differently. But can I just take a plant and stop it at say 3'?

I will post some pics of my setup and if you can could take a look and tell me what you see wrong or what you think should be improved.

I am using 2 light now. The pics I will be posting are from yesterday and only one light is shown.

The two lights I am using are both florescent. one is 20" at 41,000k and the other is I think 18,000k or something. The wattage I am unsure of because it is not listed on the lights.

I have roughly 4 sq feet of space that I am using at teh moment for the seedlings. a few of these plants are around 9" tall and the leaves are finally starting to span out. This seem a little high for me. I figured they would be shorter with more leaves by now. Its the light thing as I said earlier that I thought was the problem.

I also used 2oz clear cups for the grow. I can see the roots threw the bottom of the cup and have ordered my 5qt pots for now. Should these be transplanted now or should I wait longer. I was worried about the root system.

Also the plants have bends in the stem because my cats killed my light before and the plants grew toward them and made bends on them. The cats have been banned from the room.

Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think. And also if these being so high will hurt them or will these be ok.

Please check out the pics and let me know. I want to make sure I am doing thing ok so I will at least get something for my first grow.

These pics were taken yesterday so the tops have grown a little. but they havn't grown taller as of yet. Hope they don't from the way I understand it tall isn't good at this stage.

(your plants are terribly stretched, trying to reach the light ... fluorescent lamps must be kept within an inch or so above the plants, which you would have already known, had you read a book before planting) ... :smokin:

Thanks for the reply. I know i figured out the stretching part. But can you answer this one question. With the stretch will this be a bad thing? Can they still grow normal and develop ok?
