center of bud is turning dark- maybe purple?

Hi I'm rather new to growing and have noticed the very center of the bud is getting dark, kinda gray looking at first, and I worried it was mold or some kind of bug, but now I'm thinking is it turning purple??I have 6 females getting close to harvest but I've not seen this happen before, maybe I harvested too soon last summer or maybe it's just a different strain but anybody else get surprised the first time they saw their plants doing this?? I mean, when do plants get purple? when they are growing right, not while drying or curing?

It may be bud rot. I do not know if you are talking about the top of the bud or in the center of the bud mass. If you suspect bud rot just go into it with a fine pair of scissors and fine tool and cut it out. If you are talking about the center of the bud looking straight down, do not worry about it. It is just what whatever your strain does. I only grow outdoors so I have no idea what it could be if you are indoors. In a greenhouse it could be too much light and heat. A shade cloth would fix the problem. Dr. Bloor

Usually when a plant goes purple it goes purp. all over. If it is mold it will be super soft to the touch, and if you pull that piece it will come out most of the time. If it indeed mold, cut that bud off now.

my landlady/friend gave me a bag of seeds she said (she was told) were afgani and she wouldn't know to make that up -but just 2 are doing the purple thing, so I'm just hoping the reason I came up with the other seeds is because they are damn good
Out of 7 females plants, 5 are in the ground (Northern CA) the other 2 are sharing a pot on the patio. (It just started raining up here, now I should worry about mold?) thanks alot for answering my questions- joan

if you pull the little leaves around the affected area and they come outta the bud easy then its budrot

those are pretty. looks like the first plant i grew. by luck the flowers on the cola tops were all purple. i've been trying for another one since.
