General questions for the general nooby

ok so i need help im gonna build a grow box kinda like a hydro hut n stuff so i need help on it but first i need to figure out how much space i have

these are the things i need help on:
i have some bag seeds and i think ima do my first grow with them so then i dont really care how much i yield or anything but i want to get used to the general idea of growing and cloning and stuff before i move up to the named strains im gonna get: c99 and ak47 or maui wowie or maybe even white widow idk yet but first onto the help i need
im planning on getting a total of 800 - 1000 watts of hps for 1 or 2 plants im gona also use them only for budding and for veg to save money i wanna just use cfls or something. i might use only cfls for the bagseed and just save the hpses for the named strains idk yet.
but i want to know how to make a hydroponics system out of the wick way because that looks the easiest and whats the cheapest store i can by mylar from n stuff

now for the ballast: i need a ballast for either a 1000w or 2 500w hps bulbs so how would i do this? just get 2 500w hps ballasts and then do that? or would 1 1000w ballast be better and cheaper in the long run considering the price of a 500w bulb and a 1000w bulb?
