Check / calibrate your new meter -n- pray it's wrong . Or you need to buy a Reverse Osmosis System .
Bummer

how can i calibrate it....its brand new and i just got it today
Didn't it come w/ any instructions ?
Most need 4.0 - 7.0 calibration soloution . Most are adj. using a lil tiny eyeglass screwdriver . What kind is it ? Got a pic. ?

yea it says to calibrate with NaCl....it is a HM digital TDS-3....i got it on ebay... what would happen if i just kept using the high ppm water without getting a ROS...?/
Wouldn't you rather know the meter you just paid big bux for is right ?Quote:

Yes i want to know it is right...but where can i get NaCl and how do i know what is in the water??
Are you in the city or counrty , City water , Well water ?
I got a 8 oz. bottle of each 4.0 - 7.0 for like 12.00 online .
If your in the city - Usually once a yr in your junk mail - by law they have to give you a breakdown of everything your water contains on average . Total ppm and percentages of each element / compund in the sample . Call your Dept. of public works , or city hall= it should be on public record .

I live in the country...and have well water...
You need an R/O system .
