Are we there yet?
Greetings,
A bit of a long shot, but can anyone tell from these poor quality photos if my plant is ready for harvest yet?
BTW if anyone is interested, a NL clone from a proven female (trusted source, so sure of no hidden nasties), pot grown outdoors in a plastic greenhouse affair (never closed to ensure air circulation), moved frequently to maximise sunlight exposure, put into garage at night (not in the plastic greenhouse) since flowering (start of Augustish) fed tap water (0.5-1 ltr/day) left out for a couple of days to allow the fluoride etc. to evaporate (or whatever it does). Fed 2ce weekly on Formulex nutrient solution. Can't remember the soil, got it from a garden centre, it was a type unsuitable for erinaceous plants.
BTW used mirrors to maximise sunlight after a couple of weeks, and it seemed (I don't know) to help growth splendidly. Be interested to know if this in fact true - I worked on the assumption that a lumen is a lumen wherever it comes from.
Never pruned until last 3 weeks flowering, since when I dispose of the completely yellow fans to allow sun to the lower part, which seems also to have worked.
All in all, a bit of a bodge job :-)
Anyway, any comments?
Cheers,
Noobus Maximus
God made pot, mankind made nuclear weapons. Guess which one's illegal?

Not if you're American :-)

:D Haha, .
Nobody will be able to tell you when to harvest , you want to get (if you have not got) a microscope to have a look at the trichomes, do some research first but work along the lines of - when the trichs are amber they are ready for the chop.
And i believe mirrors are not good , as the heat to light ratio is higher in heat.

Cool, thanks, I suspected as much.
I have a microscope on order (btw to any other noobs reading this, well cheap (under £15) so buy one - wish I had weeks ago!)
Yes, I'll check for the trichomes. I hear the fewer amber, the less couchlock, and judging from the clone parent, I do not want this to be too couchy. The parent left bodies in its wake across the county :-)
Point taken about the mirrors - I seem to have got away with it, but I guess if it worked as I'd supposed, it would be a well known
trick.

Mirrors tend to absorb more light then they reflect. You'd be better off with a large piece of wood painted flat white or something.

Nice looking plants. Yes get a pocket microscope. Check out the trics. Let them grow. This plant is 202 days old and still has another 2 weeks or so to go. Mostly cloudy but, I want amber in there. Dr. Bloor

Thanks Guys,
I did as suggested, got a 100x pocket microscope (£5 from Maplins for the other UK noobs, including batteries), and what a great investment. Saved me from harvesting probably 1 week too early - cloudy trichs, some still clear, very few amber.
The microscope btw is a bit of a pain, and as soon as the cash flow improves I'll get a better one, but if anyone (like me) is thinking of a bodge grow just to see, this cheap'n'cheerful effort is a no brainer.
Cheers,
Noobus
Thought for the day: There are lots of songs about love; there are lots of songs about sex. How come there are no songs about changing dirty nappies?
